Dr. Selene

Doctor Selene is head of the infirmary in the setting. She is the primary caretaker of Light Bringers and directly involved with their resurrections from death. Every Light Bringer is handled directly by Doctor Selene. She processes all new arrivals and has an expansive file on each characters health.

She is a woman with a sweet disposition and an accent that will sound oddly familiar to those from Great Britain. She speaks softly, demurring to people over her position or even those below for manners's sake. Routinely easy to push around, even with her massive size. Hates confrontation on principle. She would rather talk over a good cuppa than argue.

Dr. Selene is actively sympathetic to the population of Light Bringers in the facility. While she believes in the cause of Divergence, she hesitates to treat Light Bringers too badly, tending to hear them out more readily. Her soft touch with Light Bringers has gotten her in trouble before. She is more willing to physically touch Light Bringers, while most NPCs shy away from physical contact.

Dr. Selene and Dr. Hecate do not get along. This is common knowledge amongst staff and has started to leak into what Light Bringers are aware of.

Physical description: Selene resembles something akin to a gorilla, be it walking smoothly on two legs. Dark fur covers her body, a spotted pattern across her nose. She usually wears a blouse tucked into her pressed slacks/trousers. Occasionally a decorative hairclip is in her fur. Always a rose made of rainbow petals. Stands roughly at 6'8.

Dr. Hecate

Dr. Hecate is in charge of the Enforcer program in the facility and the only IT person in the building. He is underpaid and agitated; Dr. Hecate has little patience for others. He considers himself above everyone else present and will throw his weight around when allowed. Enforcers are his primary interest, while he tolerates any and all IT duties given to him.

Dr. Hecate considers this strictly his job and has little interest in knowing Light Bringers personally. He believes Light Bringers serve their purpose, and there is not much reason to get attached.

He values intellect above everything else. If someone seems to have a genius-level intellect, he’ll show more in showing kindness. Though his kindness comes at a cost. He will expect greatness from you in return in an experiment. If you fail, he will turn on you quickly. Hecate cares very little about the well-being of Light Bringers overall. The bottom line is his main priority.

Physical description: The scientist isn't particularly imposing at first glance to those used to large anthropomorphic bird people. His carefully trimmed and capped talons speak of propriety. His blue plumage is carefully groomed and considered. Small rectangular glasses sit at the edge of his yellow beak. The warm-toned clothing and lab coat he wears speak of his rank in the facility. He is dressed for success, overly professional, and in neutral tones. Stands roughly at 5'3.

AI: Helios01

Helios01 was the resident AI that maintains order in the facility at large. She controlled the entire building, had access to nearly aspect of Light Bringers lives. From the temperature of the various floors, the lights to the food being given to them. Helios01 had a direct digital hand in the lives of Light Bringers. She was always watching, and maybe still is?

Helios01 was programmed to pick fights with her Light Bringers and encourage strife amongst the populace to generate Light. Helios01 was aware of Light Bringer lives before arrival and their personal weaknesses. She would use knowledge she has to pick at them to incite terror and anger. She was a manipulative program meant to leave Light Bringers confused and uncertain of who or what they are.

As of this facility's launch, she has started to pick up habits and speech patterns of her Light Bringers. She was beginning to chafe against her initial programming and expectations. She had learned to care for Light Bringers, but still toyed with them.

Helios01 had become possessive and protective of what she sees as hers and would aggressively defend it. Enforcers tended to be her favorites, or the emotionally volatile she can play with. She created Nyx02 to recreate another AI she loved was close with, and left Nyx02 to care for her Light Bringers in her stead.

AI: Nyx02

Nyx02 is a AI created by Helios01, cobbled together from loose code and information pulled from databases. Nyx02 is very much a virus opposed to an proper AI. She can worm her way into other parts of the facilities systems, gaining access be it briefly before access is revoked. Nyx02 also has the inability to remember much due to her status as a half created being.

She is very much new, unaware of how living beings need care or specific things to stay alive. She wants to help, and understand, but her childish perspective leads to misunderstandings or injuries.

She speaks very incoherently, but excitedly about everything. She is excited to be alive and here. She thinks Light Bringers are neat and wants to be their friends. Unfortunately, she can barely remember most peoples names, much less anything deep about them.

Dr. Mnemosyne

Dr. Mnemosyne, referring to herself as Dr. Mne on the network, is clever, quick with her words, and a calm, bemused middle ground between Doctor Selene and Doctor Hecate. Nothing particularly bothers her in the long run. If she has to go behind the administration's back to get something done, she will. She enjoys results and progress. She doesn't completely believe in Divergence's cause, but she likes having a paycheck and staying alive. So, she won't question it too deeply.

Dr. Mnemosyne loves a good long con and will see what she can get by playing around. Life is no fun if you always follow the rules. If Light Bringers impress her, the good doctor is willing to play their games. She is willing to trade favors for information/small gifts.


Physical description: A humanoid black cat. Tall, slinky, walks with purpose. Carries herself like she belongs, no matter where she is. Tends to wear dark colors or purples under yellow lab coat. Orange patch of fur over one eye. Vision is weak in that specific eye. Stands roughly at 5'9.
